Darsheel Safary

Darsheel Safary is an Indian actor who rose to fame as a child artist with the critically acclaimed film Taare Zameen Par (2007). Born on 9 March 1997 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, he was discovered by writer and creative director Amol Gupte while attending Shiamak Davar’s dance academy. He was selected after auditioning for the role of Ishaan Awasthi, a young boy struggling with dyslexia. His natural and emotional performance earned him widespread praise and several awards, including the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor.
After his breakthrough, Darsheel appeared in films such as Bumm Bumm Bole (2010), Zokkomon (2011), and Midnight’s Children (2012). He also participated in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5 and later appeared in television and film projects. Darsheel took a break from acting to concentrate on his education before gradually returning to the entertainment industry. His journey from a celebrated child actor to an adult performer has made him a memorable figure in Hindi cinema.
